Modern Slavery Statement
Silver Lining Fostering Agency
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve the exploitation of a person for personal or commercial gain.
Silver Lining Fostering Ltd is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to ensuring that it does not take place within our organisation or, as far as reasonably practicable, within our supply chains. This statement is made in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
As a fostering agency, safeguarding is central to everything we do. The children placed with our foster carers are subject to statutory oversight by local authorities, alongside regular reviews and independent scrutiny to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Our staff and foster carers are trained to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns, including indicators of exploitation and trafficking.
We operate robust safer recruitment procedures in line with statutory guidance and the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011. All staff and foster carers are subject to appropriate checks, including identity verification, right to work, references, and DBS checks, to ensure they are suitable to work with children and vulnerable individuals.
Our supply chains are limited and primarily relate to professional services and operational support. We expect all suppliers and partners to meet the same high standards, and we will not knowingly engage with organisations involved in modern slavery or unethical practices.
We promote a culture of openness and accountability. Staff are encouraged to raise concerns through line management or whistleblowing processes, and any concerns are taken seriously and addressed promptly.
This statement reflects our commitment to safeguarding, ethical practice, and protecting the rights and dignity of all individuals we work with. It is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective and relevant.
